Terms of Service

Last updated: 27 June 2026

Legal Notice Privacy Policy Terms of Service Cookie Policy

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website adventureroute.pro and all guided mountain route excursions and related services provided by AdventureRoute Inc. ("AdventureRoute," "we," "us," or "our"), a corporation registered in British Columbia, Canada (BN 846789012BC0001), with its principal office at 4295 Blackcomb Way, Suite 316, Whistler, BC V8E 0B9. By booking an excursion, submitting a contact enquiry, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

1. Services Description

AdventureRoute Inc. provides guided mountain route excursions, route planning consultations, safety briefings, and related services in the Whistler-Blackcomb region, Garibaldi Provincial Park, and the Sea-to-Sky corridor. All programme descriptions, pricing, and availability on our website are subject to confirmation by our route planning team. A booking is confirmed only upon written acceptance and, where applicable, receipt of payment or deposit.

AdventureRoute Inc. is not a licensed travel agency. We do not sell airline tickets, hotel accommodations, travel insurance, rental vehicles, or other travel products. Our services are limited to mountain route guiding and related planning as described on our website and in your written quotation.

2. Booking and Payment

All prices are quoted in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated. Standard programme bookings require full payment no later than seven days before the scheduled excursion date. Private custom route bookings require a non-refundable deposit of thirty percent at confirmation, with the balance due seven days before departure.

We accept payment by e-transfer, Visa, and Mastercard. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers subject to their own terms. A receipt is issued upon payment confirmation. Prices include applicable goods and services tax (GST) where required by Canadian law.

AdventureRoute reserves the right to decline any booking at our discretion, including when a participant's disclosed fitness level or health conditions are incompatible with the requested programme, when the group size exceeds programme limits, or when scheduling conflicts prevent safe guide allocation.

3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

3.1 Guest-Initiated Cancellations

Cancellations made more than fourteen days before the scheduled excursion receive a full refund minus a twenty-five dollar CAD administrative fee. Cancellations made seven to fourteen days before receive a fifty percent refund. Cancellations made within seven days of the scheduled date are non-refundable. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected] and are effective upon our written acknowledgment.

3.2 AdventureRoute-Initiated Cancellations

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any excursion due to unsafe weather conditions, guide illness or unavailability, trail closures, wildfire, avalanche risk, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, you may choose a full refund or rescheduling at no additional charge. AdventureRoute is not liable for incidental costs you may incur, including accommodation, transportation, or activities arranged independently.

3.3 Private Route Deposits

Deposits for private custom routes are non-refundable if cancellation occurs within thirty days of the scheduled date. Deposits may be transferred to a rescheduled date within the same operating season subject to guide availability.

4. Participant Responsibilities

By participating in an AdventureRoute excursion, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during booking and pre-excursion consultations, including health conditions, allergies, medications, and fitness level
  • Arrive at the designated meeting point on time with appropriate personal equipment as specified in your packing list
  • Follow your guide's instructions at all times, including decisions to turn back, modify the route, or abort the excursion for safety reasons
  • Disclose any changes to your health status between booking and the excursion date
  • Behave respectfully toward guides, other participants, wildlife, and the natural environment
  • Not consume alcohol or impairing substances before or during any excursion
  • Accept personal responsibility for equipment you bring or rent through our partner outfitters

Failure to meet these obligations may result in your removal from an excursion without refund if your conduct jeopardizes safety or the experience of other participants.

5. Assumption of Risk and Waiver

Mountain route excursions involve inherent and significant risks including but not limited to: falls on uneven, slippery, or unstable terrain; exposure to extreme weather including lightning, hypothermia, and heat exhaustion; encounters with wildlife including bears and cougars; river and creek crossings; altitude-related illness; falling rocks and debris; equipment failure; and remote locations where emergency medical response may be delayed.

By booking and participating in any AdventureRoute programme, you acknowledge these risks and voluntarily assume full responsibility for any injury, loss, damage, or death that may occur during or as a result of your participation, except to the extent caused by AdventureRoute's gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

To the fullest extent permitted by British Columbia law, you release and discharge AdventureRoute Inc., its directors, officers, employees, guides, contractors, and agents from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising from your participation in our services, including claims for personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death.

6. Guide Authority

Your assigned guide has absolute authority over all on-trail decisions including route selection, pacing, rest stops, turnaround points, and excursion abortion. Guide decisions are based on professional assessment of terrain, weather, group fitness, and safety conditions. Guide decisions are final and not subject to dispute or refund if the excursion is modified or shortened for safety reasons.

7. Insurance

AdventureRoute Inc. maintains commercial general liability insurance (Policy ARC-2026-BC) covering our guided operations. This insurance does not cover participant medical expenses, personal property loss, or costs associated with evacuation, repatriation, or trip cancellation. You are strongly advised to maintain personal health insurance and consider adventure sports or travel medical coverage appropriate for mountain activities in remote areas.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AdventureRoute Inc.'s total liability for any claim arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific excursion giving rise to the claim. In no event shall AdventureRoute be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost enjoyment, or costs of substitute services, regardless of the theory of liability.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under British Columbia law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence.

9. Minors

Participants under eighteen years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on the minor's behalf. The accompanying adult assumes full responsibility for the minor's conduct and safety. Age restrictions apply to specific programmes as described on our website and in programme documentation.

10. Intellectual Property

Route cards, programme materials, website content, and photographs provided by AdventureRoute are protected by copyright and remain our intellectual property. You may use route cards for personal reference during your excursion but may not reproduce, distribute, or commercialize them without written permission.

11. Website Use

Your use of adventureroute.pro is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. You agree not to use our website for unlawful purposes, to submit false information through our contact form, or to attempt unauthorized access to our systems.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia sitting in Vancouver.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date indicates the most recent revision. Material changes affecting existing bookings will be communicated directly. Continued use of our website or services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms for new bookings.
